Keeping up with the spirit of our disciplines and in consonance with our Academic Activity calender, students of Department of Sociology and Department of Psychology, KIIT School of Social, Financial & Human Sciences (KSFH) along with their faculties went on a one day field visit to LNSP Residential Tribal Primary School in Jajpur Road and Sevak Old age home in Chatia on 12/11/2022. Students were exposed to a whole new dimension of social reality. Their empathy, as human beings and interest in the lives of abandoned old people and little tribal children alike, as researchers, was reassuring. The students have been requested to submit a report on their observations. This was the inaugural field visit of a series of such initiatives which would come about as part of our course entitled “Sociology: Looking beyond Classroom”.
